Plus Signs

Plus Signs option 3

Have you noticed?  The plus sign is popping up all over the place lately.  This is mainly due to Pia Wallen, who designed the lovely blanket pictured here.

But it’s not just all about the blanket.  There’s other stuff, too.

Like this Pia Wallen Tray

Or these Urban Walls Plus Sign Decals

And this simple little throw pillow.

The plus sign, or cross as some like to refer to it as, is great for adding a punch to your interior if you’re not so much into bold color.  It’s graphic and strong, yet light and serene.  What do you think?  Would you add the plus sign to  your decor?

Friday Favorites

Here are five of my favorite interior design inspirations this week. Enjoy!

image c/o Style by Emily Henderson & edited by me.

I’m pretty much good when it comes to teal blue and anything designed by Emily Henderson.

image c/o Old Brand New

This bright sunny yellow kitchen is a reminder that good weather and happy outdoor fun is on its way.

image c/o The Beautiful Home

Who wouldn’t love a cozy nook bed with a view of the stars at night?

image c/o Apartment Therapy

I must admit, the portrait is a little frightening, but the general concept of modern baroque mixed with a mid century ball chair and dark wood paneling totally does it for me.

image c/o Simply Grove

Pink, yellow, grey and black is a new color combination to me that I probably would not have thought of on my own.  I 110% approve.

Have a great weekend!  And one more thing…Mad Men!  Mad Men!  Mad Men!  That is all.

Mood Board – Manly Bachelor Pad Loft

OB-manly bachelor pad loft paint 2

Sometimes I like to design mood boards just for fun.  I designed this one today using the Olioboard website. I’ve classified this room as “manly”, but in truth, I would be pleased as punch to live here, too.  And I’m decidely not a man.  Other ways this room might be classified include industrial, modern, and eclectic.

Copy this look by adding:

a brown leather chesterfield sofa,

a black leather Eames lounge chair,

a blue velvet Milo Baughman style chair with shiny chrome frame,

a black and white cowhide rug,

an industrial style round coffee table,

and industrial vintage floor and table lamps.

Cheers to decorating!
